This is a remarkable discovery. Andre Vassort was one of the most important Parisian workshops of the 20th century, producing high-jewelry masterpieces for the likes of Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, and Boucheron. Finding a piece with the "Tête d'Aigle" (Eagle’s Head) and a partial maker's mark strongly supports a high-end French origin.

An absolute masterpiece of French high jewelry, this architectural wide-link bracelet represents the pinnacle of Mid-Century Parisian craftsmanship. Likely originating from the celebrated workshop of Andre Vassort, this piece features the sophisticated "gaspipe" or brick-link style that defined the era's luxury.
The bracelet is set with approximately 6.50 to 7.50 carats of exceptional brilliant-cut diamonds of VS1–VS2 clarity and F-G-H color, ensuring a blinding white fire. These are accented by approximately 1.00 to 2.00 carats of vibrant, square-cut rubies, set in geometric "lozenge" motifs that provide a striking contrast against the rich 18K yellow gold.

Authentication & Hallmarks

  • The French Eagle’s Head (Tête d'Aigle): The official French assay mark for 18K gold purity.
  • Maker's Mark: Features a hallmark highly consistent with the Andre Vassort "AV" maker's lozenge, with partial wear to one character consistent with age and use.
  • Origin: Paris, France.

Dealer Note: The Vassort Connection

Andre Vassort’s workshop (active approx. 1950s–1980s) was the secret hand behind some of the world's most famous jewelry houses. Attributing a piece to his atelier significantly increases its collectible value, as his work is highly sought after at major auction houses like Sotheby's and Christie's. The sheer weight (over 68 grams) and the caliber of the stones are hallmarks of his "Grand Luxe" production.
