This striking 19th-century Central Asian Suzani is a masterful example of traditional silk-on-linen (or cotton) embroidery. Measuring an impressive 101 x 68 inches, this large-scale textile likely originated from the Bukhara or Samarkand regions, known for their vibrant palettes and bold "palmette" designs.

Design & Aesthetic

The piece features a classic all-over trellis pattern filled with stylized floral rosettes and pomegranates—ancient symbols of fertility and abundance.
