Overview An exquisite antique Chinese cuff bracelet featuring a masterfully executed blend of traditional "Tian-tsui" style enameling and intricate silver filigree. The centerpiece is a large, hand-carved celadon jade plaque depicting a butterfly, a traditional Chinese symbol for joy, longevity, and marital bliss.
Design Details
- The Jade: A translucent, pale green (celadon) jadeite plaque, intricately pierced and carved. The butterfly wings feature geometric "shou" (longevity) patterns and a central coin motif representing wealth.
- The Metalwork: The cuff is constructed from silver (likely 900 or sterling grade) with a rich gold wash (vermeil). It showcases exceptionally fine wire filigree and "cannetille" beadwork.
- The Enamel: Vibrant blue, turquoise, and aubergine enamels decorate the floral borders and side panels, highlighting the delicate floral scrollwork that surrounds the central stone.
