Antique 19th Century Qing Dynasty Chinese Embroidered Silk Dragon Robe Textile Fragment
This authentic antique Chinese silk textile fragment originated from an imperial-style court or dragon robe (jifu) dating to the mid-to-late 19th century during the Qing Dynasty. The panel showcases fine hand-embroidery featuring 3 five-clawed front-facing dragon (zhenglong) chasing the flaming pearl above two profile dragons, set against a field of silk and auspicious cloud scrolls and bats. The bottom portion displays the classic lishui (diagonal stripe/wave) hem surmounted by rolling sea waves and cosmic mountain peaks (jiangya haishui).
